Ebonyfrost and Thrushcall enjoying a snowy evening in Treeclan

Ebonyfrost
Thrushcall

Thrushcall felt her paws sink slightly in the fresh powder, light sprinkles of snow falling as if the down of a dove, landing atop the molly's dark coat. They clung to her pelt, the small puffs of white contrasting with her fur. The petite warrior slunk alongside her companion, Ebonyfrost, the setting sun giving the blanket that covered the forest an orange and purple glow. Faint stars glittered in the gaps between clouds, watching the two warriors walk.

Ebonyfrost glanced over at Thrushcall and  scooted a little closer to the black and white warrior her flank brushing against Thrush's. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" She said with a smile. She was happy that she was going for a walk with Thrushcall but at the same time she felt guilty for leaving Coalstone.

Ears growing warm, Thrushcall smiled. "Quite." She looked over to Ebonyfrost, "You seem.. troubled." She tilted her head, stopping and looking at the only cat in the clan she could comfortably consider her friend, "Is everything alright?" Thrushcall's tail snaked over to the other's, intertwining with it.

Ebonyfrost felt bright red blush flowing up to her face but she didn't try to pull away from Thrushcall. "I'm just worried about Coalstone. We usually spend the nights together." She paused for a moment. "But I'm glad that we're together. I'm sure he won't miss me."

Purring softly, Thrushcall nodded. "It's good to miss those close to you. Although it is just as helpful to understand that one must not depend on their company." She nudged Ebonyfrost's cheek with her snout, drawing back to smile gently at the other. "I am glad we are together at this moment as well."

Ebonyfrost smiled, she was sure that Thrushcall could see the blush on her face. Of course she didn't really think of cat's appearances but in her opinion Thrushcall was a pretty attractive cat, she couldn't deny it.

Wincing at how.. off she felt, Thrushcall licked at her off-white chest, the wounds were coming along nicely, yet they still stung. "I really.." The molly sighed, "I need to apologize to that apprentice. I was stupid." Thrushcall cringed at her own words. She was supposed to be smart, she could use words to twist other cat's minds, get them to do what she wanted. She couldn't be stupid. "But her damned father..." She muttered weakly, her words dying in her throat. Thrushcall pushed her snout back into Ebonyfrost's neck fur.

Ebonyfrost licked the top of Thrushcall's head. "It's OK, you were only trying to defend our territory." The warrior sat back on her haunches, "how about we rest here for a second. We can just sit and talk for as long as you need to." She hated seeing Thrushcall like this and wished there was more that she could do.

Thrushcall looked up to the larger she-cat, licking a snowflake off of her shoulder in return, before sitting down beside her. She rested her head against the black and white molly's, sighing once again. Thrushcall couldn't tell if this cat brought the best or the worst out of her. She had to admit, she didn't like who she was, but it was how her family and the world had made her. She was almost disappointed that someone had managed to even puncture the shell she had put around herself.

Ebonyfrost gently curled her tail around Thrushcall's flank. "Do you want to talk about it?" The she-cat asked gently, she could hardly feel the blush on her face this time. For some reason she always blushed when she was this close to Thrushcall. But instead of moving away she scooted closer to the other warrior to offer her more warmth and comfort.

Settling into the freshly fallen snow, the dark grey warrior pressed herself against Ebonyfrost, hiding her purrs. With a deep exhale, Thrushcall spoke softly, "I-I don't know." Dammit, Starclan help me, I'm supposed to know everything. "I.. uh-I just.. I haven't felt like myself lately, y'know? I wasn't smart. I didn't realize.. and I-I just.. I didn't gain anything from it. It put me in a worse position."

"I understand, Thrushcall." Ebonyfrost sighed and wrapped one foreleg awkwardly around her 'friend's' shoulders. "You are smart, you were just trying to protect us and there's nothing wrong with that. If I saw any cat on Treeclan territory I would probably have done something, too."

"But you probably wouldn't have lunged like I did." Thrushcall's gaze hardened. "But that tom." She hissed. "That foxhearted tom! How can a clan that we are supposedly friendly with have such an aggressive deputy?! He was ready to end me right there, had his leader not pulled him back! Why would they allow a cat who can get so easily blinded with anger that he would gladly kill a cat to stay as deputy, I don't know. But what I do know is that I dislike it. Strongly."

Ebonyfrost was surprised by Thrushcall's rage. "I don't know why they would choose that cat as deputy. If I saw what happened I would be there by your side, I would've stopped him from hurting you."

The moment passing, Thrushcall's bristled fur flattened, and she leaned against Ebonyfrost. "And I thank you for that." The molly stayed there, watching as the light shifted from orange to red, and from pink to purple. The stars were growing brighter, and the slow drizzle of snow continued to float down from Starclan, as if miniature stars sent to cover the forest.

Ebonyfrost twinned her tail around Thrushcall as she watched the sky grow darker. Thick snowflakes drifted down and landed on her black and white pelt. She thought the snow made Thrushcall look even more beautiful. If that's even possible. A voice whispered inside her head.

Thrushcall's throat and chest tightened, and she wasn't sure how she felt about this odd feeling. She was meant to be filled with hatred, ready to outsmart any who dared speak with her. Who dared attempt to manipulate her. She could turn the tables on any cat. And yet she felt totally clueless around Ebonyfrost.

If Ebonyfrost noticed any of Thrushcall's emotions appearing on her face she seemed to ignore them. She kept her gaze fixed on the sky and every once in a while she would turn to look back at Thrushcall. Almost as if she was making sure the other cat was still there and that this wasn't a dream.
